Life is Better on a Bicycle

Life is Better on a Bicycle began with a simple belief: our streets should feel safer, kinder, and more human.

I started this brand after a crash last year that could have changed my life permanently. It happened in a traffic conflict, the kind so many people who ride bikes know too well: A door opens without warning. A car passes too close. Someone gets rear-ended. Someone says, “I almost got hit today,” and everyone in the cycling community knows exactly what that means.

But this brand is not about blaming drivers.

Unsafe streets are a system problem. They come from road design, speed, visibility, infrastructure, habits, and the small moments when people stop seeing each other as neighbors. San Francisco, where this brand started, has long recognized traffic safety as a citywide issue through Vision Zero, with the goal that streets should be safe no matter how people move through them.

Cycling should not feel like an act of bravery. It should feel accessible, joyful, practical, and normal. It is one of the best ways to move through a city: good for our health, good for our neighborhoods, and good for the places we call home. The CDC notes that making it easier for people to walk, bike, or roll helps communities build more physical activity into daily life and can improve quality of life.

At the same time, the safety reality is real. In 2023, 1,166 pedalcyclists were killed in traffic crashes in the United States, according to NHTSA. Behind every number is a person, a family, a ride, a commute, a friend.

Life is Better on a Bicycle exists to make cycling more visible, more understood, and more welcomed.

Our first products are small signals with a bigger purpose: reminders to pass with care, check before opening, keep bike lanes open, and share the road like we share a neighborhood.

This is just the beginning. We are building a brand for people who believe streets can be safer, cities can be kinder, and cycling can belong to everyone.
